Mary FROWEN baptised 28/11/1762 (General)

by Philippa, Wednesday, July 16, 2008, 13:58 (5983 days ago)

Hi

I've been trying to find the children of Charles Frowen and Ann Smith who married in Newland on the 28/06/1759.

I believe they had two children, William (who is my direct line) and Mary. I think this might (?) be a record of a marriage for Mary, only because a witness is a William Frowen, but I'm not sure.

Does anyone else have William BUTLER married to a Mary Frowen in their tree who might be ablet to help?

OR, does anyone else know of other children of Charles Frowen and Ann Smith?

Thanks

Mary FROWEN m William HUGHES 1799

Thank you Slowhands

Looks like Charles and Ann did only have two living children then. I will now need to see if Charles had siblings or try and work out who his parents were so that I can tie in more Frowen folk.

Mary Frowen will probably have to be left for a while, as the registers don't show who her Father is I suspect that I will never know for sure if she became Mary Butler or Mary Hughes.

I wonder if Simone has tied them in?

Hi Phillipa

Not managed to tie them in yet, but haven't dome much on Frowens lateley.

Have you had any contact with Graham Rice? I will have to look at my old laptop to see where we are up to. It died on me and some of the info I transferred to the new one doesn't seem to have gone over. Will get it out and see if I can find it all, before it dies completely! Will be back:)

Hi Pete and Simone

Haven't done a lot of family tree stuff of late, my Mother passed away in February (a Frowen) and I haven't really got back into it until very recently.

I can't remember if I have been in contact with Graham, I will have to look through (and organise) my emails and my Genes contacts to see if I have.

Pete, did you look at my Genes tree? Did you find any useful info there?

Hi

I matched your Fredrick Frowen of 1885.

He married Alice Shillam and they had two children, Ernest and Annis.
They also had a half brother called Albert Shillam.

Hi Philippa

I am really really sorry to hear about your mum.
Glad to see you are now feeling able to get back to your research again. Lots of love to you and your family.

Graham has the parents of our William Frowen b c 1773 (m Elizabeth Aston) as John Frowen and Mary Jones. Siblings to William are Betty b c 1764, John b c 1766, Jane b c 1768 d 1788, and Maryb 1774. Graham is descended from John Frowen b 1797 illigitemate to Mary b 1774.

I've let the Frowen side slip at bit at the moment too as haven't been able to confirm anything this far back. It's all a bit too vague isn't it.

If you can't find any contact from Graham, let me know and I'll put you in touch if you want.

Thank you Simone, as always you are a star!

I have been trying to see how Annis Frowen connects into my tree, it's an unusaul name and I have seen it on another tree in Genes, now I have the link!

I don't think either of you have Kearsey's in your tree do you?
