Just in case it is of any use ...

I have this Henry Aston (?) as the son of John Aston and Elizabeth:

John Aston b 1778 (d Dec 1859 aged 80 at Joyford Hill) m Elizabeth b abt 1776 West Dean
(John seem to have been a woodcutter/carpenter/timer squarer)
Children:
Elizabeth c 11 Jan 1807 Newland
John Aston c 12 Nov 1809 Newland
Maria c 2 Jun 1816 Newland
Henry Aston No FoD info b abt 1819/20 (but son of John Aston, Timber Squarer, on his marriage certificate and living 2 doors away in 1841)
Hannah Maria Aston c 28 Jul 1822 Coleford (Dad John a 'labourer' rather than 'woodman' - but the name Hannah Maria is carried on through next generations)

I was also interested in the John Aston m Jane Webb branch and tried to link them (not very successfully) to the other Newland Astons. There is a Monmouth death record for a John Aston (no age given)in Jan/Feb/Mar 1841 which would be just before the 1841 Census (taken June)when Jane is listed as 'Independent'.
