Hi Sue

I am not sure about a list of employees in the Forest of Dean mines but for a list of mines in the area, with reference to OS maps, cut and paste

Try also

Another useful site has already been mentioned in the Forum in relation to mining accidents. (enter ‘Mining’ in the ‘Search Forum’ option). The Coalmining History Resource Centre site has a location of mines option.

http://www.cmhrc.co.uk/site/home/

Click on the ‘Location Maps’ tab and then select ‘South Western Division’ for the mines in the Forest of Dean and surrounding area. The site enables you to zoom in to some extent and has an A-Z of mines that takes you direct to the appropriate map.

I hope this has been of help.
