Mary Thurston baptised 1740, Newent
The IGI lists a Mary Thurston baptised 16 February 1740 in Newent, Gloucs. FOD parish register transcripts on line record no such event, in fact no events involving any member of the Thurston family are recorded for 1730 - 1750.
I am aware of the shortcomings and pitfalls of the IGI but it does seem strange to record what seems to be a complete non-event.
Would be grateful for any clues on this.
