Thomas ROBERTS Ruardean 1798 (General)
I am searching for information about my Gt.Gt.Gt. grandfather, Thomas ROBERTS.
According to census returns he was born in Ruardean in 1798. He married Hannah/Anne Young in Ruardean in 1828.
I can trace him through the censuses until his death, but have no information at all before his marriage. Can anybody help?

If you search the Parish Records we have on this site you will notice that we have two possibilities of the baptism about the year you mentioned for your Thomas ROBERTS. One at Westbury on Severn in 1798 and the following one in 1799 at Welsh Bicknor which is the most likely.
The place of birth which is stated on censuses is often incorrect, simply because the person was not sure where they born and were guessing.
