The Brown Family and Biblin Lodge (General)
Biblins Lodge was built for Tom Brown,s Grandfather about 1817 when the Crown bought Lords Wood on the Herefordshire bank of the Wye. The Browns were Crown Woodmen, and traditionally this office passed down through the family. Tom Brown started work for the Crown early in 1896 @ 10d per day. Tom Brown married my wife's Gt Grandmother Martha Maud Davies (nee Baker) a widow with one daughter, Winifred Jessie Davies. During the first world war, Tom worked for the Timber Controll in Devon. Tom joined the newly formed Forestry Commission in 1919, untill 1928 when he left to take charge of Dartinton Hall in Devon.
