Maria CHEIRS from Tidenham (General)

by Angela Baxter, Sunday, October 26, 2008, 09:46 (5891 days ago)

I have been trying to locate the parents of Maria CHEIRS b. about 1813 in Tidenham. Maria is my g.g.g.grandmother and married a Samuel Parker in Penallt on the 1st September 1833.
However, it is the CHEIRS family name that I am interested in, but so far have drawn a blank.
I was wondering if anyone recognises this name, or if it appears in anyone else's tree?

Any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks
Angela Baxter

Thank you so much!! I had tried various spellings of the name Cheirs, but frankly hadn't thought of Chase! (A bit of mental block there I think!)

This has given me a whole new line to research, which is very exciting and I cannot thank you enough.

Much appreciated!
Best regards
Angela

CHARES CHARLS CHASE CHAIRS etc

You may have seen me write before " think phoenetically"

In your case you have a record recorded in Monmouthshire of a girl from Tidenham, so even over these 10 miles the local dialect may prove challenging to these ears.

Then we have the transcription of this record....

Good luck with this path.
