by billingham, Thursday, October 30, 2008, 01:34 (5880 days ago) @ slowhands

Thank you for that Slowhands, The 1901 census being most useful.
That has taken me a 10 year step ahead.

I also think I have found further reference to him in your Parish Record section Record ID 22539/Entry 730/ 30 August 1919. ABELL Lydia.
Residence: Cheadle Royal Stockport.(I assume the Hospital) it has the word Etebell[?] (could this be Ashbell home at the time)
Please take a look at it and would welcome your comments. Altough I have no idea why Stockport.

I suspect Etebell is Hospital in the context ( mental hospital)
although ashbell is possible - would need to see the
original :-)

Thanks all that is very useful, it's no good I am going to have to splash out and get the 1901 Census access.Well it's certainly an eye opener. I originally thought most of my ancestors came form Wales but how wrong can you be, In fact so far Cirencester > Forest of Dean > Kington > Hereford > Now New Forest, Hampshire. Umm looks like there is a reason why I love the Forest's.

Thats even more amazing and I am listed aswell.
Someone certainly has done their home work. The great thing is that from that link I have also found relatives on my mothers side too over in Suffolk.
I thought they never travelled far in those days.

I don't know if you have access to the Ancestry website, but on there, there are several Family Trees relating to Ashbel and his parents.
If you don't have access and would like me to contact the Tree owners on your behalf so that you can swap information with them, let me know, and I'd be happy to do so.
