Albert Adams Viney Hill 1902 (General)

by JSannwald @, Friday, November 07, 2008, 07:53 (5872 days ago)

Hi,
I am looking to contact any decendants of Albert Adams' ( Viney Hill 1902 ) and his children.
As I have previously said my grandfather was Albert's son by his second marriage. I know my grandfather had several half brothers and sisters and indeed 'Helena' has made contact on this site before.
I would be interested to know if anyone has any family photos. I do not have / know of any of Albert Adams and would love to know if there are any in existence. Also if there are any of his children. I visited the grave of his son Charles who was killed on the Somme in 1916 and have a photograph of his headstone in Longueval but again there are no photographs that I know of my grandfathers brothers.

Yes , thankyou again for the information previously posted.
Would still like to know if there are any relatives of Albert Adams out there who has any photos of him or his sons.
As we get close to the 9O year anniverasary of the end of the first world war I am sure we would all like to remember those from the Forest who gave their lives.

I am the wife of Charles Leonard Adams who is the son of Frederick, grandson of Albert and nephew of Private Charles Leonard Adams who died in WW1.
We would be interested in any family history that is available as we have very little information ourselves.
My husband was really keen when he found there were other relatives out there.
We look forward to hearing a response to this with interest.
Thank you.

I have been researching the Adams family history for more than two years now .
I have found this site really helpful for researching births, marriages and deaths and have been able with the help of some others been able to trace the family history back to the late 1700's.
Here is the 1911 info I have just got on the family

ADAMS, ALBERT HEAD MARRIED M 45 STATIONARY ENGINEMAN GLOUCESTER EAST DEAN
ADAMS, ALICE WIFE MARRIED 7 F 37 HERTFORDSHIRE DORSTONE
ADAMS, JAMES SON SINGLE M 20 COAL MINER HEWERD GLOUCESTERSHIRE EAST DEAN
ADAMS, CHARLIE SON SINGLE M 17 MINER HORSE DRIVING GLOUCESTERSHIRE EAST DEAN
ADAMS, HARRY SON M 14 NINER BELT BOY ABOVE GROUND GLOUCESTERSHIRE EAST DEAN ADAMS, FRED SON M 12 SCHOOL GLOUCESTERSHIRE EAST DEAN
ADAMS, WALTER SON M 10 SCHOOL GLOUCESTERSHIRE EAST DEAN
ADAMS, ALBERT SON M 6 SCHOOL GLOUCESTERSHIRE EAST DEAN
ADAMS, GLADYS MAY DAUGHTER F 2 GLOUCESTER RUSPIDGE
Address RUSPIDGE CINDERFORD County Gloucestershire
District Westbury on Severn Subdistrict East Dean
Enumeration District 13 Parish

I do not have a text format of 1901 census and the information availble but this will obviously include Frederick at the age of 4. I do also have a jpeg of 1901 census and other census returns I have had from Ancestry previously that I have saved and that I can email to you if you wish.
My father was Derrick Adams, eldest son of Albert junior, grandson of Albert.
I have has contact with 'Helena' through this site who has posted some information on Alice Adams, sister of Albert , aunt of Frederick - see links below. This also shows Albert and his siblings from earlier census returns.

Alice was an assistant school mistress on the 1901 census

Am happy to share any info and would also be happy to email a copy of the family tree as known at the moment .
Regards
Jackie

Many thanks for your message, I would be very interested in receiving a copy of the family tree, as I said before we have very little information. We have a photo of Fred, but only as an old man. He had 4 children the youngest being my husband Charles, who as I said before was named after Fred's brother Charles. I was wondering if you have any family photos at all, especially Albert, my husband's Grandfather or Fred when he was little. Any information about them as people as well, so that we can start to make up a history of the family and what kind of people they were, what they looked like etc. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks. Ruth
