The 1851 Census tells us that the TURLEY and PHILLIPS families were living at Gibraltar. The Enumeration District is described as follows:
East Dean Township part of in Denby Walk and Ecclesiastical District of Saint Johns All that part of the Township of East Dean which comprises Bradley Hill, Blakeney Hill, Blakeney Hill Lodge, Brains Green, Two Bridges, Aylaford Gibralter, Howbeech,Stapledge Lodge, Bradley Hill House and over said Hill to the Brook at Sewdley [Following all deleted]: Bradley Hill; Blakeney Hill; Two Bridges; Aylaford; Brains Green; The Old Furnace & Gibraltar; Howbeech Level; Stapledge Lodge

Referring to GFHS Burial Index there were 18 Burials in the name of TURLEY at Awre Parish Church from 1834-1859. The index mainly covers the period 1800-1837.

Looking at Gloucester Record Office Handlist the earliest Burial Register for Blakeney is 1892. Would therefore suggest you seek registers for Awre and Cinderford St John. Burial Registers for the latter commence 1844. Microfiche copies can be obtained from Gloucester Record Office. There is a charge and details can be found on the web site at:
