Alvington Church Records 1800 - 1825 and their access (General)

by Olle Jones, Saturday, November 08, 2008, 00:42 (5871 days ago)

John Jones and Ann Davis both born Alvington c. 1802 were my g g grandparents. They married at Alvington Church 22/7/1825.
I would like to find out who their parents were.
Would either birth or marriage records for John and Ann help with this?
If they might do these records survive and can they be accessed?
Any information would be gratefully received.

Olle

The records for Alvington covering the period you mentioned are available right here on this site for you to search through.

You will see a link Search Parish Records link near the top of this page when you are logged in.

Maybe you have already found the record on this site as you have the date of the marrige. Looking at the transcript of the marrige record it has the parents as [not stated]. What you see on the transcribed record is exactly as it is in the Parish Register so it is not going to help you find the names of the parents, which is the case many of the records of that period.

A list of all the Parish Records that we have transcribed and what are in progress are on the Up-to-date list of transcribed records page. To list just the Alvington records, simply type in the name in the search box on the page.

There are no baptisms for John Jones at Alvington c1802 but many with that name from other parishes, one of which maybe him. In checking for a baptism for Ann Davis it is the same situation as with John.
