Elizabeth Morgan of Coleford, 1822-1867 (General)

Trying to find the parents of Elizabeth Morgan of Coleford. She was born around 1822 and married an Absalom Drew of East Dean on Sept. 16, 1844 at St. Mary's in Flaxley. She died around 1867.

The couple had at least 9 children, 7 who survived to adulthood. Absalom worked as a miner in 1851 and a butcher in the 1871 census where he is listed as a widower. He remarries a Mary Ann Ryder who was living at the house taking care of Elizabeth's two youngest children, Eliza and Mary Ann. All four emigrate to America, arriving in New York aboard the S.S. Adriatic in 1874 and go on to live in Westfield, Massachusetts where a son, Absalom William Drew, had moved to five years earlier.

Have no additional information on Elizabeth (nor, for that matter on Mary Ann Ryder other than she was born around 1817).

Pictures of the gravesite for Absalom, Mary Ann, Absalom William, his wife Rosanna Mary Cable and their son Fred are on my website if anyone is interested (beautiful little private cemetery in Westfield).

thanks.
