Re Isaac and Reuben James - Oldcroft

I have just read your message of 2006. Isaac's son Reuben, married my husbands great great grandmother. This was a second marriage for her. Her name was originally Emily Skinner and her parents were publicans at the Landsdown Arms in Bath.Emily first married in 1862. Her first husband was George Hatton of Yorkley, a blacksmith. They had a son, Sidney, and lived in Yorkley. However, he must have died at some point before 1867 as we have a marriage certificate for that year, where she marries your ancestor, Reuben James and on the certificate she is described as a widow. He became Sidney's step father and gave him the name James. Consequently that line of the family were all James. I didnt know that Reuben had a sister, Phoebe, only that he had a brother, Charles.
It was really interesting to see your message. I have only just discovered this website, hence the 2 year delay in replying!

Kathleen
