I'm not sure if your message will be read by Maude Barrett but I would imagine as your grandfather was a colliery worker in Gelligaer, South Wales and there are a number of people with the surname of Mutlow in the parish records of the Forest, there could be a connection somewhere.

Do you have any further details that may indicate that any of your family either came or moved to the Forest?
