Dialect (General)
Are there any recordings, of which I can get a copy, of someone talking in the Forest dialect.

I have a CD of songs by Dick Brice, entitled "Out Of The Wood". Some of the tracks are, sung some are spoken. "Who Killed The Bears" is one of particular interest. The Forest Bookshop in Coleford have several of his albums for sale.

I was interested to read this thread and thanks for the reference to various Cds. I grew up at Lydney leaving at age 21. I never regarded myself as having a strong forest accent but having lived in Wiltshire for narly 40 years I still find people can recognise where I came from. A few years ago I had to interview a local forest farmer on tape for about an hour. Trying to transcribe the tape later it was quite obvious that my accent had reverted over that hour and ended up returning to quite a strong forest twang. It shows that this is an accent /dialect that never really leaves you.
