Elizabeth Rogers + Gamage (getting there....) (General)
In his memoirs, Uncle Tom relates that his mother was the daughter of "farmer Rogers, the Squire of Roger's Grange," and that the Gamages owned a neighboring hunting preserve. Elizabeth and Deodatus were married in the spring of 1868 according to his story, but the register shows that they were married in 1867.
I always have to keep in mind the fact that Uncle Tom is eighty yearrs old when he writes these memories. Later, he tells that after being widowed, his mother received a $300 legacy, in 1884, which came to her from the death of her brother John in England. The 1851 UK census that you posted only shows one brother, Thomas.
