Mary Ann Preddy (General)

by woolcomber65, Thursday, March 26, 2009, 04:24 (5794 days ago)

I'm looking for information on Ricard Baker who married Mary Ann Preddy abt 1876. Their son Alfred John was born in Ebbw Vale 1879 and I believe that there was an earlier son William George born abt 1878. I believe that Richard was a policeman and that his father was George Baker. However Mary Ann Preddy remains a mystery - can anyone throw some light on her.

Thanks for your help, it's greatly appreciated.

Thanks slowhands

I have the birth certificate for Alfred John Baker which shows his father as Richard Baker but the mother is down as being Mary Ann BRADDY. However I think that his mother's name was Mary Ann Preddy as there was another son William George whose surname is clearly down as Preddy. Whether or not the recorder misheard the name or if it was a clerical error remains a mystery.

Thanks again
