Clara GITTINGS born1877 Redmarley - gone missing (General)
by unknown, Monday, April 27, 2009, 10:23 (5762 days ago)
I am trying to trace Clara Gittings born Qtr 3 1877 Redmarley
Parents William John George Gittings and Fanny nee Warner
Clara appears on the 1881 census aged 3 at Hawcross, Redmarley, Worcs
and again aged 23 in 1901 Census as Servant Rodborough Stroud, Glos.
I am led to understand she never married, I am unable to track any marraige or death. According to a relative she was buried at Corse church, again no records show this. She has gone missing, can you help please.

In 1911 there are 4 Clara Gittings in England
the nearest home is in Dursley Glos but aged 41
there's what look to be mother and daughter in Ludlow ages 41 and 7
and there's one the right age a servant working for a Littleton family as cook in Hampstead, London, but it says born Norfolk.
There are also 2 Clara Gittins about the right age, one in Birmingham and one in Wandsworth. But of course it costs to look at other details.
If she wandered down to Monmouth then she may appear in the Welsh census when they are available. Not a lot of help, cheers Fred

The Norfolk Clara married in 1913, and there is only one other possible marriage in wigan 1900, so if that's not her then it looks like she didn't marry.

Thanks Forester

Many thanks to all who have helped.
I did not know about the mapping service on this site, it great.
This has to be a 6 star family history site, thanks to all who maintain and support it.
A happy forester.

Don't know if this helps, but Pillows Green Lane runs from Malvern Road, Staunton around to Straight Lane (B4213 that leaves Staunton in an Eastwards direction). I live just around the corner and can take a wander for if you need any current information. Corse church is found 2-3 miles south of Staunton & Corse (the villages merge into each other). Staunton church is half a mile to the West of the village.

Hi eromdap
Many thanks for the info, no requirements at the moment, hope to visit Corse church soon to see if we can find any sign of graves of Gittings family.
