BRAIN and MEEK (General)

by LOTTABOTTLE, Friday, June 12, 2009, 09:26 (5717 days ago)

I wonder if you could help most of the people on ancestory .com seem to have Benjamin Brain who married Elizabeth Meek in 1841 as the son of William and Beatta Brain .On this forum it says that Benjamins father is a James Brain ;that is on his marriage to Elizabeth. I think that Benjamin was the son of James and Ann Brain who also had another son called James born 1809 he married Agnes Roberts in 1832 if i am right in my assumption why does everyone say that william is benjamins dad ? Have i lost the plot ?

Jim's statement :-
http://www.forum.forest-of-dean.net/index.php?id=12314
I also have a James Brain baptised 3.9.1809 as son of James Brain & Ann I believe this James married Agnes Roberts. This being the second James, the first baptised 20.6.1808, died 13.11.1808. James Brain & Ann also had a son Benjamin baptised 4.8.1811 who married Elizabeth Meek.

Yes jim i have looked at all the parish records and postings about Benjamin Brain and Elizabeth Meek .My original posting was meant to inform some distant cousins of my Brain family that they had the wrong people down as Benjamins parents i knew they were wrong but as you may know sometimes telling people their family tree is wrong just causes animosity .I am hoping those who are doing there geniology on these people log in to this forum and realise their mistake .After all we all need a helping hand to put us on the right track regards carol

Hmmmmm....just checking I hadn't made this error in my research, and my Ancestry "hints" pointed me to a researcher who had this exact (presumed) error, so I entered a brief comment on their record, pointed to this forum, and received a snotty reply accusing me of being impolite! Last time I'll point out (presumed) errors......

Good job we're all friends here.

So has anyone anything on the "other" (my) Benjamin, parents William and Beata Beddis?

Cheers
Bob
