Rawlings HADDOCK 1801-1871 (General)

I am researching my husband's HADDOCK family history. He is a ggggrandson of Rawlings HADDOCK 1801-1871, Forest of Dean. Rawlings' son George married Elizabeth HADDOCK in 1869 at Wolverhampton. Elizabeth was the daughter of Joseph and Harriet HADDOCK of Kidderminster and the sister of Thomas HADDOCK b1845 mentioned here recently. Elizabeth was widowed and I was wondering if anyone knows what happened to her. On the 1881 England Census she appears to be a nurse at Hampton Court Palace.

Hi Barbara, are you aware that this was George's second marriage. His first was to Jane Rees on 21 Jun 1855. They has two children, George chr. 17 Jul 1855 and Mary Ann chr. 23 Aug 1857.

Following Jane's death in March 1861 George married his cousin Elizabeth Haddock. They had one child Joseph Thomas who in 1881 was in the Blue Coat School, Old Swinford Hospital, Hagley Road.

I only have Elizabeth up to 1881 so would be pleased to know if you are able to track her down.

Regards, Sue Bell

Hi Sue,

Many thanks for your reply.

Yes, I was aware of George HADDOCK's first marriage to Jane and of his two children from this marriage. His son George appears to have lived in Lydney with Rawlings his grandfather and Ann, Rawlings' second wife. His daughter Mary Jane was living with George's sister Charlotte VERRINDER in Lydney on the 1861 Census. I cannot trace young George after 1881 and Mary Jane after 1861.

My husband is the gggrandson of John HADDOCK, George's brother. John also moved to Wolverhampton, along with his children John Rawlings and Mary Jane.

The information regarding the whereabouts of George's second son Joseph Thomas was much appreciated as I did not know what had happened to him following his father's death.

Kind regards,

Barbara Lavender
