Does anyone know the exact location of the mine? I have hunted around the area, but can't find it. Maybe a Grid reference or a detailed description would help?

The map reference is 643196

take the road from Drybrook to Ross-on-Wye past Euroclydon
down the hill. At first right turn gold mine is about 30
yards down and 30 -50 yards to the right.

Thanks Jeff. The Grid reference is different to that quoted by Slowhands. I found it today.

We have a photo in our Gallery of 6 people outside the entrance to the Gold Mine

Apparently the mine was not a success.

Hi folks
Anyone know who owned this mine? I was told, when I was a child, that some ancestor (presumably one of the Harris's) "owned a gold-mine in the Forest, but the money was wasted on the demon drink". Seemed to be rather fanciful or embroidered story, but be interested if ther's any element of truth in it. Perhaps someone had a minor job in the place?
Cheers, Celia
