HI Slowhands, thanks for the info you gave, the only info from Elizabeths marriage cert is she is age 24, spinster living at 34 Chippenham Terrace, presumably Paddington,father James Jones, deceased, Mason. Elizabeth married William Hutton on 28th July 1870.

forgive my ignorance, but I dont know the area, would Shortstanding, West Dean come under Coleford, as that is the name of place born that is listed on censuses relating to my Elizabeth

its about 1 1/2 miles north of Coleford and near Christchurch/Berry Hill so you can easily get away with calling it "Coleford area" - The London census enumerator might know of Coleford , 99% sure he would not know of Shortstanding :-)
