Parish Records for Wales (General)

by Barbara B @, Sunday, December 20, 2009, 18:07 (5527 days ago)

Though most of my family were from the FOD area, a lot moved to Wales as they were miners. Does anyone know of a similar site to the FOD that have searchable records.

Many thanks

IGI is first place to look. Monmouthshire was very important for transmigration with Gloucestershire. A super resource from 1725 can be found for free in rootsweb.com/~monfamilies/.

Hi Barbara
Like you many of our relatives move from FOD to Chepstow and district.
I use Monmouthshire Parish Records which is listed via Roots.
There is a long list of towns and some valuable info.
Good Luck
