He married Johanna Aylward - born Newmarket, Ireland c 1803, died Cinderford 14.10.1878. Johanna buried at St.Johns churchyard, Cinderford.
Family story - William and Johanna arrived from Ireland in 1837 with `horses and dogs` and 6 children.
#Their eldest known child is the William you mention b.c.1825 in Kilkenny.

Hello Sam,
Can you be more specific, ie. general forestry of individual woodmen. I have two relatives who were woodwards but have very little info on them. I also have a 1956 book 'Dean Forest and the Wye Valley' which has a lot of general info about the various plantations including two nice maps.
