If you look at the 1901 Census for Wales - there are only 41 males born between 1880 and 1900 called COPE - and only 4 with E's = Egbert 1896, Port Talbot, Glam - Edward J 1898 - born Taunton, Somerset, Edgar Charles 1899, Cardiff, Glam and Eric 1900 St Andrews Glam.
