As you see from Slowhands' reply Joseph was living at "The Flat" not in a flat. He lived in Minsterworth all his life as far as I know so his details are all around there. I have a lot of information about him but some vital bits are missing - such as why did he go from boat owner to labourer? Why did they send my grandfather away to Abergavenny when he was 8 years old when all the rest of the family (8 others I think offhand) all stayed in Minsterworth and grew up there?

Records are very good but they don't tell you everything!
