Hi,
Im hoping someone will be able to help me. I am trying to find out the names of the parents of my great great grand parents John Eggerton and Elizabeth Griffiths.
I am coming up against a brick wall quite a lot with the eggerton name, they dont seem to appear a lot, if at all, on the censuses as they travelled the country a lot, and i think this may account for this!
I would be very greatful for any help on this side of my family and any ideas on how to find them on records etc.
Also if anyone else out there is researching the same family then i would love to hear from them.

Thanks so much for replying. Im not too sure if the one you have put up is one of mine or not. It definalty isnt my gggrandfather as is too early, but could be his parents.
Ohh dear..just realised when i read the reply I had forgot the dates...Im not much help am i, blame it on the tiredness :)
Sorry about that.
The dates i have for John eggerton are born c1853, unknown whereabouts, died 11 Jun 1925 in coleford/christchurch area, forest of dean.
Married to Elizabeth Griffiths born c1855, unknown whereabouts, died 27 Nov 1953 West view, shortstanding, coleford, glos.
I dont know when or where they were married, its one of the things i cannot find. But im sure that would have the parents details on too.
They had 7 children that i know about:

Thats pretty much as far as ive got, i have a load more names and dates from family graves and there are at least a dozen names on here that i know 1 will definalty belong to us, but without going back a generation or two i just cannot put it all in order. Hope that makes sense :)

On the Free BMD a Richard Eggerton Born June Quarter 1915 Hereford District, shows that his mothers maiden name is Morris.

The census from birmingham i think has definate postential. The richard eggerton is also definatly part of the family, although i cannot yet fit him in until i get john's marriage certificate to check for his parents names.
Silly question given ive been doing research some time now, but, im assuming the best and only way of finding out john eggertons parents is to obtain his marriage certificate from hereford records office?
Can i view the certificate on microfiche for free at the offices rather than ordering one? I know i have done this at the gloucester records office, but wasnt sure if this is the same for all offices?
