Does anyone know where or what The Weighing Machine, Lydbrook was? I have an ancestor, Temperance James who was residing there when she died in 1870.

On the Incline of lydbrook Hill there was a weighing machine - I think it was for measuring the tramway trucks being hauled up / down the Incline- today it would be a weighbridge.
in 1851 William and Tempearance are shown as machine clerk and wife for the machine on the Incline.
