Frederick Charles Smith (1889-1953) (General)
I am writing a book on village football teams which operated in the Aberystwyth area during the post-war era, 1945-53.
The secretary of one of the clubs was a Capt. Frederick Charles Smith, a Mitcheldean man, who lived briefly in this area but returned to the Forest of Dean with his wife Maude in 1952. He died at Dilke's Hospital, Cinderford on 27 August 1953, aged 64.
His widow Alice Maud Smith remained in the Cinderford area and died in July 1992 aged 90.
Any information on this family would be gratefully received, especially a photograph of Capt. Smith.
