An obituary for Edward CAPENER was printed in the Dean Forest Mercury 1917, exact date not known, which read "Private Edward Capener, also of the Gloucestershire Regiment, has died from wounds at one of the fronts. He was born at North Nibley 40 years ago, but had resided in Cinderford from the age of 12 till about 10 years ago working as a collier at Crump Meadow Colliery. He had since lived at Frampton. Volunteering for his country's service in May 1915...."
