I ask because I have been in touch with a Freda Murray from that area, I add excerpts of our correspondence in case they may relate to your Murrays:

"I don't know anything about Samuel Millard only the fact that he was married to my husband's great aunt, Mary Ann Brotheridge (her second marriage). She had a daughter by her first marriage. Gilbert Murray, my husband's uncle was brought up by them. What is the Ind Coope connection. The Brotheridge family are also connected to the Caldwells."

"...the lady next to him is Francis Edith Murray (Edie) and next to her is my husband;s father, Richard Brotheridge Murray and the boy next to him is Harry Hickman, Edith Murray's eldest son.

In the middle the bride and groom, Grace Murray and Albert Harris. Lady next to him, I do not know, but maybe the groom's mother, the man with the white beard next to her, again, I think is a Harris. The chap on the end with the beard is Edward Arch, husband of Ellen Martha Brotheridge. Sitting is Dorothy Murray who married another Albert Harris (strange that the groom and his brother were both called Albert). Next to her sitting, not known. Kneeling is my husband's mother, Hilda Ward and sitting next to her is Ellen Martha Arch nee Brotheridge. The only two children I can identify are the little girls, daughters of Grace, Marjorie and Dorothy.

As it is Armistice Day I attach photos of Thomas Brotheridge's sons both died at the end of the Gt War."

and finally

"Gilbert Murray went to live with the Millards as a very small child. Richard Murray and Charlotte Jane Brotheridge were married in Tirley, Gloucestershire, they farmed at Greyhill Farm in Deerhurst where all of their children, apart from Gilbert were born. They moved to Haseley in Warwickshire, where Gilbert was born. Sadly Charlotte died in 1901 of a stroke, the children were all then farmed out to various relatives. My husband, David's father, Richard Brotheridge Murray, I do not believe, saw Gilbert after this time, all very sad. I did manage to trace Gilbert's widow living in Newcastle and met his daughter who lives in Edinburgh."
