Hi

The Town's listed seem to be my family. Freda Town was my grandmother. Just today went to Richard's castle to see the tomb of John & Margaret Town & also Burghill to see war memorial which shows Herbert's name. Elsie was my great Aunty. What is your connection?

Hi again,Looking at all the info.are we to assume that Margaret Town was the mother/aunt of Herbert Town[b.1827]?She is named as a lodger in 1861.Elsie was a very eccentric character, very much loved by all the family.I only new her for a short while but my wife and her mum have a feast of of stories about her.How does your family tree relate to Elsie?

Just come across this, GNTMathias is my sister and I think she has become a little confused here.

Yes we are related to the Town family my great grandfather was John town mentioned above who was 12 in 1871, his father was Herbert Town of Richards Castle. The Freda and Elsie she talks about are John Town's children, Freda Victoria (our grandmother) was born in 1901 and Nora Elsie was born in 1899. Arthur whose name is on the war memorial in Burghill where John's family had moved to is again one of John's sons.
