Family Bible - Fanny, Clara, James & William Frowen 1870-76 (General)
by Philippa, Wednesday, September 29, 2010, 11:17 (5174 days ago)
I was going through some boxes with my Father out of his attic the other day and we found a family bible in which the births of the above were recorded.
I beleive that the bible belonged to my GG Grandmother, Elizabeth Frowen nee Kearsey. The births recorded are:-
Fanney Louisa Frowen Born in August 21/1870
Clara Frowen Born at Coalway Lane End, Coleford July 3(?) 1872
James Edward Frowen Born at Coalway Lane End (can't work out the month but it ends in 'ber')2, 1874
David, William Frowen born at Coalway Lane End December 31, 1876.
William David Frowen was my G Grandfather and I assume that the bible ended up with him and has now ended up with me.
I cannot scan/copy this at the moment but would be very happy to do so in the future for any family members that would like a copy. Please let me know.

Hi Brenda
Sorry, it only has those people in it. I am VERY lucky to have found it. My G Grandfather William Frowen lived his daughter (Lucy Foulkes nee Frowen), my grandfather and my parents until he died just before I was born. I assume that he had the bible from his mother and that it just got left in the house. My Mother passed away a couple of years ago and my Father seems intent on clearing all the clutter in the house and passing it onto me "So you don't have to deal with it when I go!" (good job I am a vintage and antiqe dealer!)
I have also had a quick look at my tree and I don't have your James or his father Thomas (thanks Slowhands) - yet!
I have other Frowen's from English Bicknor in the mix, probably descendend from your James, but haven't found him yet.
Good luck with your search and let me know if you dig anything up (I'll tell you if I find something).
Philippa

Thank`s Phillipa for your reply. and offer of help.
James married Elizabeth Holfort 1795 in Linton and lived in Newent, died there, I cant find any more than that about him, 1768 fit`s the age, but that`s as much as I know,

Hello Philippa
One of my relatives married a Alfred frowen in 1893,they had 8 children.
Alfred was born around 1873 not sure where he was from because on the marriage record it said Frewin but in the census and their children births's its listed as Frowen.
