Marriage Banns (General)

Hi
My 2x great grandparents(William POWELL and Mary Ann WILLIAMS) were married at English Bicknor on 6/05/1837. Their fathers` names were not shown but the dates of the banns were. Were the parents names written on the entry of banns ? If so, is there a way of seeing it. The banns for this wedding were on Mar. 26th, April 2nd and 9th 1837.Was it too early in that year(1837) for a marriage certificate?
