Mary Apperley was christened at Newent 1797 (General)

On 10 March 1797 Mary Apperley was christened at Newent. She was the daughter of Peter Apperley - no mother's name was given. Mary later married William Mann. I have searched and can find no wedding recorded for Peter nor any other christenings for other children he may have had - thought I might be able to find his wife's name in that way. I wondered if his wife had died in childbirth but can not find a burial around that time.

Can anyone please help me?

Mary Apperley - is this the answer?

Mary Apperley's birth was registered in Westbury on Severn in 1797 by her father Peter Apperley - no mother declared. Peter Apperley disappears - I cannot find him before or after that date. In 1828 Mary marries William Manns.

On 29 December 1846 Edwin Wood marries Emily Apperley and William Manns is declared as her father.

In 1824 Joseph Apperley marries Elizabeth Brookes and Mary Apperley is a witness. Could she be Joseph's sister?

In 1798 Joseph Apperley was base born in Westbury on Severn - mother Phebe.

In 1827 Elmily Apperley was baptised in Newent - parents Joseph and Elizabeth.

So William could be Emily's uncle and given her away at her marriage and incorrectly included as her father. Again this would link Mary to Joseph.

Does that make sense? My head is going round in circles.
