My Great Grandmother named Annie Sophie Rawlings was born in Coleford 1865, her father John Mansell Rawlings was mentioned in Kellys directory 1870 as a painter/glazier. Now in the 1881 census Annie Rawlings was a servant for a Jewellery shop 28 Market Place my question is does No 28 Market Place appear on either of the pictures.

If you use Google Maps - and use 'the walking man' symbol

http://maps.google.co.uk

28 Market Place Coleford, is now Puchinis (tea rooms) - GL16 8AE - it is on the corner of Market Street and Bank Street - by traffic lights. You can see the King's Head Hotel - straight ahead in the next road.

The Old photograph of Coleford on FOD photo's does have the King's Head Hotel on it. The shop is to the left on corner - and can be seen (today it's just further along after the Angel Hotel).

The building is exactly the same 'shape' today with a frontage 'jutting out' and above two storey's each with 2 windows..
