Trying to put the christian name to this person. All I know is that he played football for Harrow Hill around 1950.

Brian,
I am reliably informed, by his cousin, that Pyge's real name was Cecil Frank born 1921, died July 1994. He was the son of Frank H. MEEK and Beatrice J. (formerly LOADE). I do not know how he acquired the nickname Pyge. He also had a sister Olive B. born 1918, died 1934.
If you look at the photo gallery, Drybrook section, there is a photo of a row of houses on Harrow Hill. This is now Larkfield Road. Pyge lived in the house third from the right.

Cecil Frank MEEK 1921 - 1994, Harrow Hill
by Brian Meek , Tuesday, November 23, 2010, 12:36 (5119 days ago) @ slowhands
Thanks again for your help. The house on Harrow Hill is the one I remember, and its where I thought Pyge lived with his mother around 1957-60. I don't think he married, but my memory of him is working for W G Powell and Sons of Cinderford, and having a pint in the New Inn in Drybrook.

Hi Slowhands & Brian
When I first looked at this posting I thought I had no cennection with a Frank Meek 1890. I very nearly didn't have a second look. Now of course thanks to Slowhands alert I see that it was actually Henry Frank and as ever I have gained some information from him,in this instance some baptism detail.
Having checked the link :
http://www.forum.forest-of-dean.net/index.php?mode=thread&id=9037#p9100
I have read through this again and I have a variance with a Slowhands assumption, in particular the inference that the parents of Moses Meek 1828 are John Meek & Ann. I have the parents of this Moses Meek baptised 23 Nov 1828 (who married Lucy Meek nee Parsons born 1827 in 1854) as Beriah Meek 1809 & Tryphena Williams 1807, married 20 Apr 1828 Walford :

The John Meek 1804 & Ann 1805, shown in the census on the posting are in fact John Meek baptised 16 Feb 1803 Hope Mansell & Ann Roberts baptised 30 Mar 1806, married 13 Aug 1825 Hope Mansell. I am not related to John Meek 1803, but Ann Roberts 1806 is a 3rd cousin 4 times removed. John Meek 1803 & Ann Roberts 1806 did of course have a son Moses, this one baptised 25 Dec 1832, he went on to marry Ann Malson born 1829 in 1854.
The relationship to me will therefore remain either way, but I would be interested in any observations on the parentage of Moses Meek 1828.
