Elizabeth GRIFFITHS born between 1788-1795 (General)
Does anyone researching GRIFFITHS have an Elizabeth Griffiths in their family tree who marries William CLARKE on July 12, 1815 at Newland? I have four possible matches: Elizabeth, baptised 1795 Awre, Blakeney Chapel to William GRIFFITHS and Sarah (WALKER); Elizabeth, baptised 1792 Awre, Blakeney Chapel to [James] John GRIFFITHS and [Mary] Hannah (COLE); Elizabeth, baptised 1788 Lydney to James GRIFFITHS and Margaret; or Elizabeth, baptised 1792 Ruardean to Thomas GRIFFITHS and Mary.
Can anyone confirm a marriage to William Clarke, or claim one of these other Elizabeth's as their own so I can narrow the search?
I sent for William's death cert from the GRO hoping to find some helpful information, such as his marital status (married or widowed) but his death wasn't registered with the GRO, although I suspect it was he who was buried at Awre in 1845.
Elizabeth and several of their children are missing from the 1841 census, and I have found no evidence of her being a visitor elsewhere, or a burial in the Forest.
They had five children, William (1817), Anne (1818), Richard Stephen (1820), Eliza (1827), Henry (1831), and Charles George Goss (1835).
They lived in the Awre/Blakeney/Blakeney Hill/Old Furnace area.
