Eliza Brooks baptism c 1815 (General)

Hi
I`m looking for the baptism of Eliza BROOKS who was the first-born of my 3x great grandparents William and Elizabeth(nee HARRIS)They were married at Littledean in 1810 and the next child after Eliza was William born c 1817 Ruardean.
I found 2 entries for Eliza but neither seemed to fit .One was for an Elizabeth BROOKS bptd. 20/03/1816 at Littledean (parents John and Sarah). The other was at Churcham 25/12/1817 parents Joseph and Elizabeth
I wondered if the parents named in the first entry was a mis-transcription

I may have found something for you . . . there was an Eileen Brooks baptised at English Bicknor 25 August 1816, daughter of William and Elizabeth. I checked marriages for English Bicknor to see if there was another set of William and Elizabeth Brooks married in that parish, but didn't find any. So perhaps this is your missing Eliza? I can see how the two names could possibly be confused if the handwriting is less than clear . . .

Hi
thanks to mrsbruso for that interesting find and for following it through. I hadnt seeen that entry or perhaps I did but dismissed(not enough lateral thinking)It certainly fits time-wise but the place is confusing as all the family entries I have show Littledean or Ruardean.
Thanks again for giving me something to follow through

It's a clue, but I don't know if it's a good clue. I had a great aunt born in Lancashire. Nobody else was born there, and there's no census information, no obvious relatives in the area . . . brothers two years ahead and two years behind both born, predictably, in Blakeney. I agree that the clues always make a lot more sense when they are closer to home. Happy hunting.

I suspect this is the BROOKS family living extra parochially near Lydbrook - using nearby English Bicknor and Drybrook churches for baptisms, all seems to fit with "eileen".....

Eliza BROOKS baptism c 1816 Aston Bridge area

Hi
Thanks to Slowhands for his help again. I was doubtful about the "Eileen" entry because I was surprised at it being in English Bicknor and because of dad`s occupation. All the other entries to do with this family has been Littledean and Drybrook with them living in Astonbridge lodge and later Ruardean. William BROOKS (and family) were still living in Astonbridge Lodge in 1841(census) although his occupation changed to labourer from woodman
Thanks again to Slowhands and mrsbrusco
