Coleford Burials (General)

Hi

I have some burials for family at Coleford Cemetery.

I see there are a few different Coleford Parish registers on the site now. I'm a bit confused about which would of had burials, e.g there is Coleford Broadwell, but no burials transcribed as yet. Would there have been burials there, or where they all at Coleford cemetery.

Hope I'm making sense!

Also the burials I have, most of which are the children in the family, but there is one for dad too, are mixed between being buried in unconsecrated and consecrated. Why would that be? e.g Jane Howell not baptised was buried in consecrated ground, wheras Raymond who was baptised was buried in unconsecrated ground. Dad Evan was baptised but buried in unconsecrated ground. Does the baptism have any bearing on the issue?

Thanks

Simone

Hi Simone

I likewise came across a similar problem with family being buried in unconsecrated and blessed ground.

those members of my family buried in unconsecrated ground worshipped as Bible Christians or Baptists.

A plan of the cemetry is also on our web side, it is usful when locating your family graves.

Kind Regards

Ahh, thanks for that :) you have just pre empted the question I was going to ask...
Did Baptists/ Methodists have their own graveyards? So obviously yes there were some.

Need to learn a bit more about non conformists!

The dates on the CD - cover the year 1850-1851

and there are 29 burials, but there are 580 transcripts for Coleford Baptist (births/marriages/burials) on this site.
