JAMES family of Penallt, 1840's (General)

Hi there
I wonder if anyone can throw light on some places which were mentioned in my ancestor's will of 1838 please? John JAMES, carpenter, died and left property to his wife and 4 daughters. Some of the names are: Lower Redbrook, Cider Mill, Graig, Pentwayne, Glyn Farm, Pleck and Calla Prowse or Towse. Slowhands gave me info on the 1841 census to say that Ann, 2 daughters and a son were in Penallt in 1841, but I saw on the Monmouthshire site that she was a charwoman. What happened to all the property? Are there any land records available for that period? Are these places still in existence, or have they been renamed?
Many thanks

Carol
