Hi,
Can anyone find Annie Jones on the 1911 census? She is shown on the 1901 census living with her parents Thomas and Jane, as well as her brothers William, George and Thomas and sister Alice. They all lived in Foundry Lane, Cinderford.
I know she was a domestic servant by 1914, so may have been in service somewhere else when she was 15 in 1911. Trying to track her down.
All help appreciated!

However as you can see from my reply to Slowhands I have still not found Annie in 1911. I suspect she may have been "in service" somewhere else - so the search goes on!

Hi Paul,
Yes that looks like Maude because she was born in Abenhall and is the right age.
It is interesting that the three sisters Maude, Alice and Annie are not living with their parents in Cinderford in 1911. Maude has gone to work in Newnham (about 5 miles away) as a domestic cook, so it seems likely Alice and Annie have done something similar.

However the mystery still remains over where was Annie in 1911? She was not living with her parents in Cinderford - so where was she?
I have found out she possibly had a child in 1914 at a place called Holcombe Rogus on the border of Somerset and Devon but she is not recorded on the 1911 census as living there.

I must agree with Pam that the original looks like Cindaford, which is just a phonetic spelling of Cinderford. The difference of one year in Annie's age is of no consequence.

Thinking about it this must be her because the 1901 census shows 2 people by the name of Annie Jones aged 5 in Westbury on Severn. The 1911 census also shows 2 at this location, however one was born at Ruardean Hill (not my Annie)and the other was born in Bath. We shall have to assume the one from Bath moved to Westbury on Severn between 1901 and 1911, whilst my Annie went to London. It is highly unlikely that there is another Annie Jones from Cinderford elsewhere. I think this concludes it.
Much appreciate your assistance - shows how good the people are on this board. Don't think I would have found this out myself!
