by sgrail, Sunday, June 11, 2006, 03:51 (6741 days ago)

I researching the Grail Family, I've found them in Woolaston, Alvington, Malmesbury,Chepstow etc. In fact nearly all of the Grail's have come from this and the surounding area. The furthest I have gone back to is c1792 Henry Grail born in Malmesbury, in 1841 living in Alvington with his Family, some Grail's lived in The Common Woolaston and Stroat Farm.I have to many name's to list but If any one has information or know of any Grail's past and present I would be grateful of any information.

George Henry Grail was married first to Mary Ann Lewis who died in 1892 around the time of the birth of Cissie.
He remarried whilst Clifford and Cissie were still quite young.

I have two links with my family - on both maternal and paternal sides

Mary Ann had two sisters - Elizabeth and Clara, and a brother.

1. Elizabeth married Colston Higgs (my maternal great grandparents)
Clifford Grail was close to my grandfather (his cousin) and there is a letter in which he apologises for being unable to be his best man due to work commitments - he taught at a school - I believe there is a memorial to him in a window there?

2. Clara married John Prosser (my paternal grandparents)so Clifford and Cissie were also cousins to my father and uncle (Wilf and Jim)

Would be delighted to exchange further info with you

Roger

You stated George Henry's sisters are Emmeline, Polly and Alice.

I am a little puzzled as I have Emma (1862), Mary Elizabeth (1870) and Alice (1875)

Of curse Amma may be known as Emmeline and Mary Elizabeth as Polly. Can you confirm this.

Did Emma go into service and marry a Frederick Henry Isaac or Edward Tarbuck in Sep 1887 in Pancras?

I Have Mary Elizabeth married to John Lewis bin 1888.

I also have Alice married to Charles Cook in 1902.

I believe there was another sister Mary Jane bon 1870, I cant find her on BMD.

Also there is a brother Edward who married Hephzibah Mary in 1897.

I would appreciate confirmation.
