The Baptism record for Thomas Voice seems possible - is it common for VOICE to turn into VOYCE in later generations?

thomas Voyce is buried in Coleford Cemetery in an "unconsecrated" area. Does that mean he wasn't baptized? last time I looked there was no marriage certificate for him and Sarah Burton who is also buried in Coleford Cemetery in an "unconsecrated" grave. If unconsecrated means no baptism then the record which was found probably isn't correct - though the location in lane end is consistent with Thomas and sarah's residence for their first few children's birth.

A few of their first children born, were baptized in Christchurch, so these records that Simone and Slowhands found for the baptism could be correct. I suspect that Thomas and Sarah were married around 1870 as their first child was born in 1872 (Fanny). In Fanny Voyce's baptism record there is a memorandum that indicates [Surname given an ROBERTS otherwise VOYCE}. The second child, Sydney didn't have such a memorandum on his baptism record.

THus I'm not certain what to make of the "unconsecrated" graves and the memoranda on Fanny's parish record for baptism.

Thanks for your further thoughts. Bonnie
