Emily Elizabeth Anne Rudge was baptised at Marstow September 18th, 1881.
She was the daughter of my Great G/F - Albert Rudge, who was the Blacksmith at Marstow. Thus she is my Great Aunt.
On December 28th 1914 when 33, she married at Marstow, Sidney George Smith, age 31, a miller of Mitcheldean, son of George Smith, a quarryman.

Family understanding is that he died in the Great War.

She died on 30th January 1919.

A son, Lewis, was brought up by her brother Ernest Rudge who lived in Mitcheldean. To muddle matters a bit further, his wife was also called Emily.

Connection with Mitcheldean arose because my Grandfather left Marstow and found work as a Postman in Mitcheldean/Drybrook and was living in Silver Street. He married Annie Jenkins from there in 1907.
