Bayliss family in Dymmock (General)
Wonder if anyone can solve the mystery of the missing Bayliss family who were living in Dymmock according to 1841c and 1851c. Lucy b 1810c a glover lived with her children George b1831, Hannah b1834c, Ann b1838 and bWilliam 1839c. I know George was christened in Ledbury, however his siblings were born in the parish. George is missing in 1851c but pops up in 1861c, having married Sarah Presdee in 1858. By 1851, Lucy is now designated as a widow. Living with her are Ann and William and new family members Thomas b1842c, Charles b1845c and Robert b1848c. Incidentally, Robert is living with George and Sarah in 1861c but disappears thereafter. A William Bayliss witnessed George's wedding and is likely to be his brother. After George and Sarah's third child was born the family moved to the Blaenavon area where he became a miner.
Apart from George there is no trace of Baptism/Christening records for any of his brothers and sisters in either Ledbury or Dymmock, nor are there easily identifiable birth records in BMD for Bayles, Baylis or Bayliss. I would like to know what happened to his siblings so any advice on how to solve the mystery would be much appreciated.
