Parish Record Question - Name Annotated (General)

I am trying to decipher a Memoranda entry in a Parish Record, a copy of which is posted below.

The Memoranda refers to a name annotation of "OY Moses" which is what I'm trying to figure out. While this record appears to be for Sarah Meek, I'm wondering if it might actually be for her husband, Moses. Based on the date of burial, the age is not right for Sarah, but would be much closer to being correct for Moses' baptism date of July 1800. There is a listing for Sarah in the England BMD Index which does match this parish record, so I'm a little confused. I've been unable to find a burial record for Moses in the parish records.

I'm wondering if anyone might have any ideas what the annotation means?

Thanks,

Mark Kelly

Parish Record Question - Name Annotated

I have just looked at the original record and I think the annotation OY Moses means that the burial was in the "Old Yard" and she was buried with Moses. I note there was a Moses Meek buried at Drybrook on 7 April 1862 aged 63 with the annotation OY 9r 6g which is almost certainly a grave location.

Graham,

Thank you for checking the original record. The burial record for Moses you mentioned is most likely the one I'm looking for. I did receive an off-line email from another member who indicated that Moses is buried at Drybrook which helps to confirm. The clarification of the meaning of OY helps also as I've seen that in other records as well.
