thank you so much for your help,it's been fab.I've found out about Margaret Hannah Adams,in Clytha.Beatrice,I'm at a loss!I've got her prayer book here from St Mary's inb Monmouth. It is signed by William Neville[vicar] which says ;in memory of St Marys March 18th 1897.She must have left to wotk somewhere. She would have been 17.I know she went to Edinburgh. There is a record of a Beatrice Adams in 1901 in Portobello.Edinburgh.This is where the trail goes cold.
I have a feeling that she married a Gardiner, but can't confirm this.Anyway, your help has been appreciated.

'I had a feeling that she married a Gardiner'
Tried again...... I've run out of 1911 census credits, so relying on a summary search......
Searched the 1911 census, for a Beatrice - born 1880 - Redbrook, Gloucestershire - and up comes
Beatrice GARDNER, female 1881, age 30 Newport, Monmouthshire
GARDNER's in Newport, Monmouthshire, 1911 census
Ada Alice - age 13
Cecil 1905 - 6
Clara - 55
Elsie - 5
Ethel May - 15
Gordon - 4 (think he is in the same household as Beatrice/Herbert - FreeBDM - Gordon Stanley GARDNER - 1906 - Newport M
Henry James - 39

Irene - 2
Louisa May - 17
Providence - 1 (think she is in the same household - Providence Annie GARDNER, 1909 - Newport M)

You could send for a birth certificate of one of the two children i.e. Gordon Stanley GARDNER, born in 1906 Newport M and Providence Annie GARDNER, born 1909 Newport M.
If you use the website FreeBDM - and search for these two births, this would give you the information. I think there are instructions on FOD on how to go about sending for certificates from the General Records Office - which also has a website - http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro.contents
The birth certificates would give the maiden name of the mother - and if Beatrice Harriet did marry a LEWIS in Newport M (see previous reply) prior to marrying Herbert GARDNER, this surname would possibly be on the children's certificate as well, as was the case with my Grandmother's birth certificate.

Children of James ADAMS and Harriet MORGAN married Redbrook
by Roger Griffiths , Wednesday, June 08, 2011, 18:37 (4924 days ago) @ graigwen
Not sure this is the same family but:-
Census 1841 Tything/Newland/Incline.
James Morgan 50 Block Layer
Henry 15
Richard 10
Edward 5
Mary (Ann) 10
Harriet 5
The Incline is Redbrook.
Harriet would have been born c1836 so 34 when married.
I think this was the only Morgan family in Redbrook. Although not appearing in the 1841 Census, James's wife Mary was sister to my gggrandmother Susannah Carpenter.
If this is the right family you've hit the jackpot. The IGI sheets will take you back to the 1500's Wedmore Somerset.
