I am researching my family tree and trying to find details from Parish records to check whether details found on the 1881 census might relate to my family
Could you please tell me which parish East Dean/Westbury on Severn comes under?
I think I may be looking for non conformists.
Are you able to tell me whether there was a Methodist chapel in the area?

Strictly East Dean and West Dean are the ex-parocial areas in the Forest , surruounded by the "true" parishes like Westbury on Severn etc.
However, the "names" are also confused with the Admin. regions / Census registration districts :-), if you are not confused yet you certainly will be during the course of your research ..
Non conformist features strongly in the Forest, and they are many Chapels to consider.
Feel free to post some more detail and I'm sure someone on this Board will help narrow down where your ancestors were .....
