My grandfather, Frank Step HOCKADAY (1856-1924), was described as a proprietor of Parkend Deep Navigation Colliery. I'd like to hear anything about the history of the colliery, who were the other proprietors (if any).

Another site worthy of viewing is the Coal Mining History Resource Centre

A section I found particularly interesting yet very emotional was the searchable index of 160,000 accidents (nationwide) giving full details of those involved.
